中钢集团郑州金属制品研究院有限公司是原国家冶金工业部直属的科研事业单位，1999年后改制为科技型企业，成为中国中钢集团公司全资子公司。
作为中国金属制品行业唯一专业科研机构，中钢集团郑州金属制品研究院有限公司从事各种钢丝及钢丝绳新材料、新产品、新技术、新设备的应用研究与开发，具有甲级工程咨询和乙级工程总承包资质；拥有近400人的科技队伍，取得了百余项重大科技成果；拥有科研中试设备仪器500余台（套），具有3万吨金属制品年生产能力。
中钢集团郑州金属制品研究院有限公司包括研发中心、国家金属制品质量监督检验中心、信息中心、中间试验厂、设备研究所、特殊异型材研究所、自动化仪表所等部门，从事钢丝、钢丝绳产品和技术的研究开发，由国家质量技术监督局批准的国家金属制品质量监督检验中心是金属制品领域唯一的质量监督检验权威机构；研究院的主要产品有弹簧钢丝、异型钢丝、CO2气体保护焊丝及成套设备、不锈钢丝及钢丝绳、金属浸塑隔离栅网生产线、拉拔润滑剂等，产品远销美国、澳大利亚、韩国、越南、叙利亚等国家。
中钢制品院于2006年搬迁至国家郑州高新技术产业开发区，分为产业园区和研发园区。研究院正以崭新的面貌、先进的技术、一流的服务，强化科技、质检、信息服务等功能，努力建成高新技术产业集团。
一、 科研和生产实力
研发中心主要从事钢丝、钢丝绳产品和技术的研究开发，已取得数十项重大技术成果，完成大中型金属制品工程设计和总承包项目20余项；设备研究所主要从事金属制品生产设备的研究开发，CO2气保焊丝成套生产设备在中国20多个省、市、自治区得到广泛的应用，设备远销美国、越南等国家；特种异型材研究所主要从事异型断面钢丝的研究开发，已推出数百个品种的钢丝产品，是集研发与生产为一体的异型材基地。
中钢制品院是神舟一号至六号载人飞船重要研制配套单位，获中国航天科技集团公司颁发的飞行成功纪念证书。“轿车高应力气门簧用钢丝项目”获冶金科学技术二等奖，“多丝二氧化碳气保焊丝生产线项目”获冶金科学技术三等奖。中钢制品院参加了多项军工新材料项目，为中国国防科技和航天事业做出了积极的贡献。
油淬火回火弹簧钢丝、CO2气保焊丝成套生产技术设备、异型断面钢丝和优质碳素结构钢丝等项目均为国内领先技术与产品。
二、 质量检测实力
国家金属制品质量监督检验中心设在中钢制品院，是国家质量技术监督检疫总局批准的金属制品领域的质量监督检验权威机构，其业务范围包括金属制品行业、建筑行业、交通行业。该中心同时也是国家安全生产监督管理总局授权的国家安全生产金属制品检测检验中心。
三、《金属制品》期刊
《金属制品》1972年创刊，大16开印刷，正文64页，双月刊。国际刊号：ISSN 1003-4226，国内刊号：CN 41-1145/TG。中国金属制品行业唯一的国家重点科技期刊，其报道的专业范围是钢丝钢绞线、钢丝绳、橡胶骨架材料、PC制品、钢丝网、铁钉、焊材等生产工艺研究，设备和原辅材料的开发应用。2001年被科技部和新闻出版总署确定为国家“双百”重点期刊。多次获全国冶金期刊奖。
四、全国金属制品信息网
全国金属制品信息网是中国金属制品及相关企业的行业组织，成立于1974年，拥有网员单位近300家，熟知中国金属制品企业的基本状况和发展动态。建网30多年来全国金属制品信息网组织的各种会议有记录的共计166次，会议收到论文总计2600余篇。信息网主要开展以下工作：（1）组织召开会议。每年组织各专业分网会议，3年组织一次总网大会，每次大会均有外商参加；（2）出版网刊《制品信息》，已出版 208 期，发表文章及信息5280篇（条）；（3）强化与其他行业组织的合作，拓宽信息渠道。
五、中国金属学会轧钢分会金属制品学术委员会
中国金属学会轧钢分会金属制品学术委员会（简称学委会）是中国金属制品行业的学术组织，设立在中钢制品院。学委会在业务上接受中国金属学会的指导，其成员来自中钢制品院和金属制品行业大型企业的技术专家，主要任务是研讨和引领中国金属制品行业技术发展方向，已召开和组织召开多次工作会议和学术会议，对行业有较大影响。
六、冶金金属制品行业生产力促进中心
冶金金属制品行业生产力促进中心设在中钢制品院，是经国家科学技术部批准成立的服务机构（国科高字[2000]018号文），旨在为金属制品企业和相关企业提供技术服务和其他中介服务。成立以来已为线材及金属制品企业提供多项市场调研报告、产品规划、技术服务及中介服务。山东胜通天轮钢帘线有限公司年产1万t子午线轮胎用钢帘线项目可行性研究报告获得中国工程咨询协会冶金专业委员会颁发的2006年度优秀工程咨询二等奖。
The Sinosteel Zhengzhou Research Institute of Steel Wire Products（SZRISWP）is a scientific research institute directly under the original Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. As the sole specialized scientific institution of China steel wire products industry, the SZRISWP engages in the application research and development for new materials, new products, new technologies and new equipments of various steel wires and wire ropes, and has grade A engineering consultation and grade B engineering general contract qualification. The research institute possesses a science and technology ranks nearly four hundreds people and has achieved more than one hundred important science and technology successes. The research institute has five hundreds set odd various equipments and instruments for science research and intermediate experiment，and possesses annual yield capacity of thirty thousand tons steel wire products.
The SZRISWP has mighty advantages of science research, production, quality examination, information and technology service, whose departments include research and development center, National Quality Supervision and Examination Center of Steel Wire Products, Information Center, No.1 Intermediate Experiment Factory, No.2 Intermediate Experiment Factory , Stainless Steel Wire Products Factory, Equipments Research Institute, Special Shaped Material Research Institute and Automatization Instrument Institute. The main products of the Institute are spring steel wire, shaped steel wire, CO2 gas shield welding wire and complete sets of equipment, stainless steel wire and wire rope, production line of plastic dip-coated steel wire Isolation railing, lubricant for wire drawing. The products have been sold to USA, Australia, Korea, Vietnam and Syria etc.
The SZRISWP moved to the National Zhengzhou Hi-tech Industries Development Zone in 2006, which contains industry region and research and development region. The institute is strengthening the science and technology, quality examination and information service functions with new look, advanced technology and the first grade service, and make great efforts to construct into hi-tech industry group Co.
一、 Strength of science research and production
The Research and Development Center mainly engages in the research and development of the products and technology of steel wire and wire rope, has achieved tens items bigness technology achievements, finished more than 20 items big or middle engineering designs and general contract projects . The Equipments Research Institute mainly engages in research and development of steel wire production equipment, the complete sets production equipment of CO2 gas shield welding wire are used widely in more than 20 provinces, municipality and autonomous region of China, the equipment also sold to USA, Vietnam and etc. The Special Shaped Material Research Institute mainly engages in research and development of shaped section steel wire, has developed and produced hundreds of steel wire products variety, is a shaped materials base concentrating development and production as one.
The SZRISWP is a important necessary unit of Shenzhou
Ⅰ to Ⅵ aircraft, obtained the Successful Flight Memory Certificate awarded by China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co. The “Steel Wire Project for High Stress Valve Spring of Car” win the second award of metallurgical science and technology; “Multi-wire CO2 Gas Shield Welding Wire Production Line Project” obtained the third award of metallurgical science and technology. The SZRISWP has joined many new materials project on the war industry, contributed actively to Chinese national defence science and technology and spaceflight cause.
The oil-tempered spring steel wire, complete sets of production technology equipment for CO2 gas shield welding wire, shaped section steel wire, quality carbon structure steel wire and etc. are all advanced technology and products at home.
二、 Strength of quality examination
The National Quality Supervision and Examination Center of Steel Wire Products is set up in the SZRISWP, it is a authorized quality supervision and examination institute in the realm of steel wire products approved by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China, whose business scope contains steel wire products industry, architecture industry and traffic industry, and at the same time it is also the National Inspection Center of Safety Production in Steel Wire Products Industry authorized by the State Administration of Work Safety.
三、 Steel Wire Products Journal
Steel Wire Products started publication in 1972. It is bimonthly with 16 mo 64 pages articles. The international publication number is ISSN 1003-4226. The domestic publication number is CN 41-1145/TG. It is the only national key technical journal for Chinese steel wire products industry. It reports the production technology research of steel wire and stranded wire, wire rope, steel cord and bead wire for tire, PC products, steel wire meshes, nail, welding materials, the development and application of equipment and raw and auxiliary materials. In 2001, the magazine was confirmed as national “two-hundred” key journal by both the national Ministry of Science and Technology and Press Publish Headquarters. It has gained national metallurgical periodical award many times.
四、 China Steel Wire Products Information Association
China Steel Wire Products Information Association founded in 1974, it is an industry organ of China steel wire products enterprises and relative ones with about 300 member enterprises. It knows intimately the basic situation and developments tendency of Chinese steel wire products enterprises. Since be set up over thirty years, China Steel Wire Products Information Association has organized a variety of meeting up to one hundred and sixty-six and received articles over two thousand and six hundred pieces. The association is engaged in following business: (1) To organize meeting. To organize special sub-associations meetings annually, hold a conference in large scale every 3 years, in which foreign companies has taken part in each time; (2) To publish Wire Products Information as inner monthly journal of the association. It has published total No.208 and articles and information up to 5280 pieces; (3) To strengthen cooperation with other association and widen information channels.
五、 Steel Wire Products Academic Committee of Steel Rolling Branch under the Chinese Society for Metals
The Steel Wire Products Academic Committee of Steel Rolling Branch under the Chinese Society for Metals is an academic organization of China steel wire products industry, is set up in the SZRISWP. The academic committee accepts the guiding of the Chinese Society for Metals in business, whose members come from the technology experts of the SZRISWP and large enterprises of steel wire products industry, whose main task is entering into and leading the technology development of Chinese steel wire products industry. It has held organized holding many work meetings and academic meetings, has larger effects on the industry.
六、 Productive Forces Promotion Center of China Steel Wire Products Industry
Productive Forces Promotion Center of China Steel Wire Products Industry is a service organ authorized by Science and Technology Ministry of the People’s Republic of China. It is set up in SZRISWP, its mission is to provide technology and others medium service for steel wire products and its relative enterprises. It has provided many items of market investigation reports, products layout, technology and medium services for wire rod enterprises and steel wire products enterprises. The feasibility research report of 10000t steel cord project of Shandong Shengtong Tianlun Steel Cord Co., Ltd. obtained 2006 excellent engineering consultation grade 2 award issued by the Metallurgical Specialty Committee of China Engineering Consultation Association.
